Let's see, in our last entry I left you with us working on the big room and I showed you the almost finished half-bath ... now, it's time to step to the left of the half-bath and look at our 'official pantry room.' Now, you know I had to have a pantry room even if it it is kind of on the small size! (The room is approximately 4 foot x 4 foot.)
This is what it currently looks like, there are a few more things that need to be done to finish it out completely, but it is in full use …
Stay tuned, there's more to come!

Deleteawww am totally engrossed in your mortgage free home updates, you have done really well & it's ... just wonderful! sorry got a tad speechless ... love the pantry! though i was expecting it to be grand like the windows lol silly me, amazing the work you both have done to get it livable & functional
ReplyDeletekeep up the great work
thanx for sharing
Selina, I would love to have a grand pantry room but as there is only 925 sq ft in the whole house that is not going to happen. It has though, given me the opportunity to get creative with where my pantry is stored in my house!!!
DeleteI too am loving this series Patsy. I love the fact that you are doing most of everything by yourselves and doing it on a budget. I do have a question. In the pantry you said it was 4 X 4 and your shelves look like they are about 4 X 4 too, how are your shelves braced to hold the weight in the middle? I have a couple shelves a little smaller than yours and I am finding the middle is starting to sag from the weight of my canned foods. Have a great rest of your week Patsy. Paula in Kansas
ReplyDeletePaula, the boards are 2' x 4' and there are 2 on each shelf side by side. This also makes taking them out really easy and I can take them out in sections instead of trying to get one large board out. Thus far, we have not had any sagging issues.
